Seven-time world champion in the premier class in motorcycle (MotoGP) Valentino Rossi's record first win since returning to Yamaha in 2013, having won the Grand Prix of the Netherlands on the track "Assen". The doctor spent two miserable years at Ducati, where it records a single win, but returned to his former team, and finally climbed to the highest place on the podium.

Stephen Brandon, Alvaro Bautista, Espargaró, Smith and Dovizioso completed the top 10 places. Pedrosa was unable to counter his rivals during the gap. Jorge Lorenzo finished heroic race after breaking collarbone in training on Thursday and had surgery the next day.
